“Titanic” shipyard slips into bankruptcy
The Harland & Wolff shipyard is insolvent – a spokesman told the German Press Agency on Monday. The owner is Dolphin Drilling. The Norwegian had already offered the company for sale months ago. Meanwhile he himself has got into financial difficulties.
The Belfast shipyard also built the legendary “Titanic”, which collided with an iceberg and sank during its maiden voyage in April 1912. Today, the company still employs 130 full-time staff, at peak times it was more than 30,000. The Irish Times
